Billing
Our rates are set by the Commission based on capital and operating costs of the District. BWD is a municipal utility, so the decision of the Commission is final (Municipal utilities are NOT regulated by the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission - See).
Belfair Water District #1 bills monthly on the 1st; and payment is due the 29th. The District bills reflect service from the prior months usage, billed from the 20th to the 20th when possible. Payments not received by the 29th are delinquent and assessed a 2.0% monthly penalty on past due amounts. Accounts not paid in full before the next billing, without a payment arrangement, are subject to shut off and a $70 disconnect/reconnect charge; the full balance may be due before service is restored. Tampering with District meters or property is unlawful.
Returned (NSF) checks incur a $50 charge and may result in immediate disconnection.
Bills may be paid by cash, check, credit cards, or debit cards by mail or in the District office or by credit or debit card online.
If You Disagree With Your Billing
If you believe your bill is in error, please call (360) 275-3008, and we will attempt to resolve the issue. If we cannot come to a mutual agreement, you may appeal your case to the Commission at their next regular meeting.
